Events 

· Annual General Meeting of the Polish Center took place Saturday, 14 May, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Szarotka.  The current Board of Directors was reelected  to another term.  The members also supported a motion from the President to change the by-laws and move the annual meeting from November to April since the Center has recently adapted the use of calendar year accounting instead of the fiscal year used previously. 

     

· During the 7 Nov 2009 General Meeting of the Polish Center in Los Angeles it was recommended that Polish American organizations seeking financial assistance from the Polish Center should submit a request in writing each year.  The Board of Directors of the Center has adopted this recommendation.  Hence, all organizations seeking financial assistance need to apply by 31 March of each year.   The request should be in writing and state as clearly as possible the reason for the request, i.e. what the funds will be used for.  Please be as precise as possible.  The funding available is limited, but the Polish Center will try to accommodate all requests as much as possible.

 

· Polish Center organized a ski trip to Mammoth, 27-28 January 2011.  Please see pictures in the photo gallery.

 

· Meetings of the Board of Directors of the Polish Center are every 1st Saturday of the month at 10 AM in Szarotka.

 

· 17 January 2010 Polish Scouting celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding with an evening gala at the Polish Church hall on Adams Blvd in Los Angeles.  During the Polish Center received an award “Friends of Polish  Scouting Golden Award”.  Only 3 such awards were given out.  Polish Center has been supporting Harcerstwo and other Polish American organizations in Los Angeles since its inception.  Picture below is the Head Scoutmaster for USA Zbigniew Pisanski presenting the Golden Award diploma to Polish Center President Andrzej Kozlowski.
